NTSE
NTSE (National Talent Search Exam)is an offline scholarship exam conducted by NCERT (National Council of Educational Research and Training) for students studying in 10th standard. The exam is conducted every year in two stages (Stage-I and Stage-II) and rewards scholarships to exceptional students on the basis of their overall performance in both stages. The stage-I exam is a state-level exam, conducted by the Indian State and Union Territories, and Stage-II is a national-level examination, conducted by NCERT. The students are given choice in between two languages; Hindi and English.
Exam Pattern:
The examination is conducted in two parts, Paper-1 MAT (Mental Ability Test) and Paper-2 SAT (Scholastic Ability Test). Each Stage comprises 200 objective-type multiple-choice questions (100 questions for Stage-I and 100 questions for Stage-II).

Marking Scheme:
Stage-I: For every correct answer, 1 mark will be awarded and 0 mark for incorrect answers and not attempted questions.
Stage-II: For every correct answer, 1 mark will be awarded, for every incorrect answer 1/3 mark will be deducted, and 0 marks for not attempted questions.
Eligibility criteria:
Only students studying in class 10 from a State or Union Territory recognized School can apply for the NTSE Scholarship. The applicant must be an Indian citizen and not be more than 18 years of age. This age limit is applicable for both Indian students as well as for students of Indian origin studying abroad. The students must fulfill the criteria else their registration will be canceled.
Stage 1 (state level) eligibility criteria: The student must have secured at least 60% of the score for general candidates and 55% of the score for reserved categories in Class 9.
Stage 2 (national level) NTSE eligibility criteria: The student must have secured at least 40% marks for general candidates and 32% for reserved categories in Stage-1 examination to qualify for the Stage-2 examination.

Make goal-oriented study plans by solving previous year papers and focusing on the type of questions asked in the exam. Attempt them, evaluate your performance, analyze your mistakes and work on your weaknesses.

The award of the scholarship shall commence after their clear promotion to class 11th and is eligible to Ph.D. level. The student must secure at least a 60% score each year for being eligible to receive the scholarship each year else their scholarship for that ear will be lost for that year. If the student fails to secure 60% of the score consecutively, then the scholarship shall be discontinued forever. The amount of scholarship is fixed according to the UGC norms and shall be discontinued under the gap in between any academic sessions.
